Easter sale brings in the numbers

There were 360 sheep and goats delivered to the Winnipeg Livestock Auction on April 5 for the Easter season. Individual or small group of animals were purchased by various local individual buyers, for the two Easter celebrations. Local buyers show interest on lower-weight animals

Producers delivered 128 sheep and goats, to the Winnipeg Livestock Auction, March 1, 2012. Buyer turnout however, was low. Bidding indicated demand for ewes was lower than the previous sale. The majority of the ewes were aged, with limited future breeding potential. The bidding was mainly for the meat industry. The 155-pound ewes brought $0.74

Good combination of supply and demand

The Winnipeg Livestock Auction had approximately 200 sheep and goats delivered for the Feb. 16 sale. Demand was strong with the Easter season approaching. Reminder: the first sale in April is one day before Good Friday. The price of the ewes slightly increased from the last sale. The bidding remained constant on the good quality





Higher Prices Return To Sales Ring

CO-OPERATOR CONTRIBUTOR There was approxi- mately 550 sheep and goats delivered to the Winnipeg Livestock Auction Nov. 3. It was a full day of bidding that brought smiles to producers. The auctioneer commented on the good quality of animals entering the arena. The selection of ewes was good with no one breed dominating the classification.

On August 4, 2011; the Winnipeg Livestock Auction had approximately 340 sheep and goats delivered for the sale. The arena seats were filled with numerous buyers both young and old. Many of the ewes delivered for this sale were sheared, which did not indicate any differences in the price range. The buyers responded with higher
