April 21 (Reuters) - Spot basis bids for corn and soybeans
held steady at elevators around the interior U.S. Midwest early
on Monday despite slow farmer selling, grain dealers said.
* Bids at processors were steady to firm as dealers at those
locations tried to boost the supplies on hand as country
movement has remained light despite last week's rally in the
futures market.
* Corn bids also rose at ethanol producers.
* A sharp downturn in the futures market on Monday morning
chilled interest from farmers and phone lines at most locations

* Spot bids for soft red winter wheat were steady to weaker
as dealers anticipated heavy farmer sales when harvest begins in
the coming weeks.
* Bids fell by 10 cents per bushel in southern Ohio.
* Wheat dealers also rolled their bids to the new-crop July
Chicago Board of Trade soft red winter wheat contract from
the old-crop May contract.
* Most farmers across the region were still waiting to start
planting tasks due to wet and cold soils. Forecasters were
calling for warm and dry weather across much of the region this
week although some scattered showers could lead to further
delays.
