U.S. Cash Grains-Corn, soy bids flat at elevators; steady/firm at processors

April 21 (Reuters) - Spot basis bids for corn and soybeans
held steady at elevators around the interior U.S. Midwest early
on Monday despite slow farmer selling, grain dealers said.
    * Bids at processors were steady to firm as dealers at those
locations tried to boost the supplies on hand as country
movement has remained light despite last week's rally in the
futures market.
    * Corn bids also rose at ethanol producers.
    * A sharp downturn in the futures market on Monday morning
chilled interest from farmers and phone lines at most locations
were quiet, dealers said. * Spot bids for soft red winter wheat were steady to weaker as dealers anticipated heavy farmer sales when harvest begins in the coming weeks. * Bids fell by 10 cents per bushel in southern Ohio. * Wheat dealers also rolled their bids to the new-crop July Chicago Board of Trade soft red winter wheat contract from the old-crop May contract. * Most farmers across the region were still waiting to start planting tasks due to wet and cold soils. Forecasters were calling for warm and dry weather across much of the region this week although some scattered showers could lead to further delays.
