Forecast: This mild fall weather will continue

Issued: Monday, Nov. 9, 2015 – Covering: Nov. 11 – Nov. 18, 2015

Once again, part of last week’s forecast was spot on, while other parts kind of missed the mark. Thanks to a rather persistent parade of low-pressure systems during much of last week, most regions began to feel like the West Coast and not sunny Manitoba! Most areas ended up seeing at least a few flakes

Forecast: Mild weather should continue into next week

Issued: Monday, Nov. 2, 2015 – Covering: Nov. 4 – Nov. 11, 2015

I’ll have to admit that last issue’s forecast didn’t work out very well as the atmosphere is transitioning to a more winter-like pattern. That pattern begins this forecast period as a Colorado low is forecasted to affect parts of our region during the first half of the week, bringing some winter weather along with it.

A nice Halloween weekend ahead

Issued: Monday, Oct. 26, 2015 · Covering: Oct. 28 – Nov. 4, 2015

Once again, the first part of last week’s forecast was reasonably accurate, then things fell apart a little during the second half, as the forecast low took a more southerly route. At this time of the year the big question on everyone’s mind is, when is winter going to show up? Well, the first couple

Cooler air keeps trying to move in

It’s becoming more and more evident we are moving into the transition phase between fall and winter, as the weather models have a tougher time figuring out the forecast. Expect cool weather to dominate

Issued: Monday, Oct. 12, 2015 · Covering: Oct. 14 – Oct. 21, 2015

Warm, dry weather moved in over the first half of the Thanksgiving long weekend as expected, but after that things kind of went a little awry. A strong area of low pressure helped to boost temperatures into the low to mid-20s, but instead of tracking through northern Manitoba, last weekend’s low took a much more

Main storm track remains to our north

Issued: Monday, Oct. 5, 2015 · Covering: Oct. 7 – Oct. 14, 2015

There were a couple of issues with last week’s forecast. The first was the strength of the area of high pressure that moved through our region and took up position over Ontario late in the week. The second was a weak upper low that kind of got stuck on the western edge of the Ontario

Another week of nice fall weather

Issued: Monday, Sept. 28, 2015 · Covering: Sept. 30 – Oct. 7, 2015

Medium-range weather models have again done a darned good job getting the big picture right. We saw a large low track across the north late last week into this week, bringing strong southerly winds along with very warm temperatures to all of Manitoba Friday and Saturday. As advertised, a cold front pushed through Sunday, bringing

Issued: Monday, September 21, 2015 – Covering: September 23 – September 30, 2015

The mild September weather continued with last week’s forecast coming in pretty darned close to bang-on. For those of you hoping for dry, mild weather to continue, it looks like you’ll be in luck! It looks more and more like the current weather pattern will continue at least into early October, with the main storm

Issued: Monday, September 14, 2015 – Covering: September 16 – September 23, 2015

After a very warm weekend, in which most locations across southern and central Manitoba came close to or even broke a few record-high temperatures, it looks like things will cool down a little bit for this forecast period. That said, it still looks like it’ll be fairly nice for the middle of September. This forecast
