July 23 (Reuters) – Spot cash basis bids for soybeans were narrowly mixed at U.S. Midwest processors and river terminals, but mostly steady at elevators early on Wednesday in very light trade as Chicago Board of Trade soybean futures traded higher, dealers said.

* The higher CBOT soybean futures enticed some farmers to market crops, dealers said. Some growers placed soybeans in delayed pricing programs on hopes CBOT soy futures would continue to rise, dealers said.

* Soft red winter wheat bids also held steady as farmers delivered the grain to meet existing July contracts, dealers said.

Canadian canola futures vibing

Recent comments from Chinese and Canadian officials offered a shot of positive vibes that lifted ICE canola futures to their highest levels in a month, even without any actual concrete developments on the trade front.

* Corn bids were steady to narrowly higher at elevators and processors, but sales were quiet, dealers said.
