U.S. Cash Grains-Ethanol corn bids firm on slow farmer sales

Jan 6 (Reuters) - Corn cash basis bids were steady to
narrowly higher at U.S. Midwest ethanol plants early on Monday
after an already slow pace of farmer sales was further reduced
by heavy snowfall and near-record low temperatures, dealers
said.
    * Several grain elevators, ethanol plants and soybean
processors were said to be shut down in the eastern part of the
region due to the bitter winter weather, while roads were closed
in northern Indiana, preventing workers from traveling.
