U.S. Cash Grains-Bids firm on slow sales ahead of USDA report

Dec 10 (Reuters) - Spot cash bids for corn and soybeans were
steady to higher at U.S. Midwest processors, ethanol plants and
river terminals early on Tuesday, supported by a slow farmer
sales ahead of a monthly government crop report, dealers said.
    * Farmers were light sellers, mostly of soybeans, on Monday
as futures jumped, but there was little selling interest in
advance of a U.S. Agriculture Department report expected to show
increased global demand for the crops. The report is slated for
release at 11 a.m. CST (1700 GMT). 
    * Depressed prices due to big harvests have many farmers

Shipping costs were unchanged. * Temperatures are forecast to remain below normal in the U.S. Midwest and Plains for the next week to 10 days, but not cold enough to cause further damage to dormant winter wheat crops, a meteorologist said on Tuesday.
