Nov 25 (Reuters) - Corn cash basis bids were firm at U.S.
Midwest ethanol plants, while soybean bids climbed at river
terminals early on Monday, with light country offerings and good
demand supporting both grains, dealers said.
* Some farmers sold soybeans late last week after cash
prices climbed above $13 per bushel. But sales of both crops
overall are slow with the harvest roughly complete.
* Corn bids gained as much as 4 cents per bushel at a
closely monitored processor and ethanol plant in Cedar Rapids,
Iowa, while soybean bids rose 2 cents along the Mississippi

The flow of speculative money, reacting to whatever world news is available, can be expected to steer grain and oilseed futures in this stretch between Northern and Southern Hemisphere harvests, Phil Franz-Warkentin writes.
River and rose 3 cents at a processor in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
* A downturn in barge freight costs on Midwest waterways
also supported bids for soybeans along the river.
* Soybean futures edged lower and corn futures
were narrowly higher in early activity at the Chicago Board of
Trade, with the moves failing to spur any significant selling
from farmers or commercial elevators, the dealers said.
