The Manitoba Women’s Institute has invited University of Guelph’s Carolyn Pletsch to Manitoba to facilitate workshops on women in leadership in Steinbach and Winnipeg Nov. 16.
The two-hour workshops begin at 9 a.m. at the Brass Lantern Conference Centre in Steinbach and at 1 p.m. in Winnipeg at the Red River Exhibition grounds.
Pletsch, who consults nationally on issues related to organizational development with an emphasis on development in the non-profit sector and rural women’s organizations, will guide participants through a discussion that zeros in on what comprises effective leadership.
The discussion will also look at what characteristics and resources are needed to effect change in keeping rural organizations vibrant, and what can be done to support women in assuming leadership roles.
She will also talk about processes that can help identify what makes a community great and how this information can be used to keep organizations vibrant.
