The first updated COVID-19 and flu shots are making their way through the province, Manitoba Health announced Oct. 6.
The first shipments are bound for high-priority locations such as personal care homes and hospitals, the department said.
The vaccines are expected to trickle out to the general public in coming weeks, although the province warned that some sites may have stock earlier than others.

The province has again begun turning people to their online vaccine finder and booking tools to access the vaccines. Booking appointments directly through a pharmacy or clinic, or waiting on upcoming vaccine clinics in their area, are other options, Manitoba Health said.
The province has also launched an advertising campaign encouraging Manitobans to keep their vaccinations up to date.
“Public health officials would like to remind Manitobans it is safe and effective to receive more than one vaccine at a time,” the department also said.
The province has tagged demographics at particular risk of illness this year.
Vaccination is being strongly recommended for children under five years old (but older than six months). Those 65 years old and older, those with underlying medical conditions, pregnant or breastfeeding women, anyone living in congregate situations like care homes, Indigenous communities, marginalized groups and essential service providers are also counted as at high risk.
