If you’ve enjoyed the “Great Tastes of Manitoba,” the longest running TV cooking show in Manitoba’s history, you’ll love this latest venture – a 20th anniversary hardcover cookbook entitled Great Tastes of Manitoba – Celebrating delicious, local food.

This new book features more than 85 recipes, along with stunning photography and local tidbits from the past 20 years of the TV show. Each recipe was handpicked by the food experts from eight Manitoba producer associations including: Manitoba Canola Growers, Manitoba Cattle Producers Association/Beef Information Centre, Manitoba Chicken Producers, Manitoba Egg Farmers, Manitoba Mushroom Growers Association, Manitoba Pork Council, Manitoba Pulse Growers Association and Manitoba Turkey Producers.

Manitoba farmers want in on strychnine exception

These farm groups have been encouraging the use of local, healthy food for more than two decades. Each is a non-profit, grassroots organization funded by their respective farmers. No other province in Canada has this unique partnership of commodity groups. These organizations represent the farmer’s values and the essence of farming: working in collaboration to connect people to local, healthy, delicious Manitoba products.
