Organizers at Manitoba Ag Days pride themselves on providing a premier agricultural trade show and a big part of that is keeping the show current, relative and informative.
In fact that attention to new technology and innovation became a rallying cry for Manitoba Ag Days 2020.
“Exhibitors displaying new technology, innovations or products should be recognized for their contributions to our industry,” Kristen Phillips, general manager of Manitoba Ag Days, said.
“Ag Days would like to promote and feature these advancements as enhancements to its show and ultimately the producers who use them on their farming operations.”
To that end the show has revised its innovation program so that it is more inclusive to all exhibitors.
“Make sure you watch for the Innovation Showcase icons throughout the show,” Phillips said, adding they will be hanging above the participating entries like “Google pins” on a map.
There will be seven categories in the Innovation Showcase. Prize money will be awarded to first and second place in each category.
Glacier FarmMedia has also come on board to reward the first- and second-place winner in each category with advertising packages.
“We are so excited to launch our new program in 2020 as part of our innovation theme. It was a natural fit for the 2020 vision,” Phillips said.

Agronomics
Awarded to the company that has developed a new technology that improves crop production including innovation in genetics, pesticide application (non-mechanical), and the process of producing a crop.
Animal and Livestock
Awarded to the company that has a new technology that assists in the health and well-being of livestock animals.
