Seeding season is just around the corner and that often means you’re competing with the weather. So, running a drill or seeding unit at night in order to get a crop in the ground is far from out of the question, but it’s hard to see how that equipment might be functioning in the dark.

This is where Tri-Side Ag’s Underdrill Light Kit comes in. It’s a magnetic LED lighting system that you install on the underside of your air drill or cultivator. It fits any piece of equipment and plugs in via a power harness that plugs into the 7-pin connector on your tractor.

Prairie farms race to get ready for winter 2025

Equipment needs to be winterized and stored; fall field work needs to be done and there are a million tiny jobs to make sure both the farm yard and farm house are ready for the snow to fly

“When you’re running at night or you’re filling your drill at night and you’re wanting to do run checks, your lights will be on as soon as you turn your tractor lights on,” says Benson Pizzey, owner of Tri-Side Ag. “So you’re able to check your runs from the back of the drill without having to crawl underneath.”

Tri-Side Ag’s invention won a first place Innovation Award in the farm safety category at Manitoba Ag Days in January.
