Western Manitoba’s farm equipment dealership landscape is growing.

Equipment dealer AgWest announced Aug. 6 that their delayed expansion plans for new dealership buildings in Russell and Brandon are now well underway.

In an email, the company noted that walls are going up in Russell, while walls and roof are in place at the Brandon site.

“This project shows our long-term commitment to the region,” said Brandon service manager Mike Noto in a news release. “Having our own dedicated facility makes it easier for customers to do business with us, and for our team, it means a more functional space that lets us take more jobs and work more efficiently.”

The same release noted that the new facilities will “provide faster, more efficient support in two of the province’s busiest agricultural regions.”

AgWest, a dealer of Claas, Fendt, MacDon and several other brands, has six locations in Manitoba and two in Saskatchewan.

The new buildings will include increased service ability and parts storage and modernized workspace, the company has said.

“Having a full-service facility here means faster turnaround time, more support on the ground, and new opportunities for local employment,” said Russell branch manager Anthony Chwaluk.

The buildings were originally intended to be completed in 2025, but are now expected to be finished next year, AgWest said.
