If farmer-members vote to amalgamate the five organizations in 2020, existing directors will become interim delegates on the four crop committees, says consultant Rob Hannam of Synthesis Agri-Food Network. That will provide continuity as crop committee delegates are then elected over time.
Half of the first crop committee delegates will serve a one-year term and the rest will serve three years.
The crop committee’s interim delegates will appoint the 11 directors serving on the interim board.
Half of the interim directors will serve one year and the rest three.

In 2021, 17 delegates will be elected to the crop committees and 16 of the original interim delegates will continue to serve.
Delegates will elect five directors who will each serve two years along with six previously elected interim directors.
In 2022 there is no election for crop committee delegates and no change to the board of directors.
In 2023 up to 16 people can be elected as delegates to the crop committees, each for a four-year term.
The crop committee delegates will then elect six directors to the board each with two-year terms.
Elections for crop committee delegates will be held every two years after that.
