Canola futures took back yesterday’s losses to post solid gains, as values continued their back-and-forth sideways activity of the past week. North American grain and oilseed futures were weaker Thursday, with canola, soybeans, corn and wheat all pressured by speculative profit-taking and uncertainty over Chinese demand. Canola futures traded to either side of unchanged, settling within a dollar of yesterday’s close. Soybean, corn and wheat futures were mostly higher, although spring wheat was lower at the close.
