One person is dead following a collision between a tractor and a passenger vehicle in western Manitoba.
According to a recent RCMP release, the Virden detachment attended the site of the crash on Highway 21, just south of the junction with Provincial Road 543 northwest of Souris, on the morning of Sept. 16. Police received a report of the incident just after 9:00 a.m.
“The investigation has determined that an SUV, determined to have been stolen from Winnipeg, was travelling southbound on Highway 21, when it veered over the center line and collided head-on with a northbound farm tractor,” police said.

The driver of the passenger vehicle, identified as a 31-year-old man from Stonewall, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the tractor, a 21-year-old man, was physically unhurt.
Virden RCMP say they continue to investigate, with help from a forensic collision reconstructurist.
