A young Manitoban is among the winners of three $2,000 vouchers to fund the purchase of an Angus heifer.

Grace Glover, of Boissevain, was one of the Canadian Junior Angus members selected in a random draw.

Layne Chantler, of Egbert, Ontario and Karsen Van Sickle, of Red Deer County, Alberta were also recipients.

The vouchers are funded by the Canadian Angus Foundation, and are to be used for the purchase of an Angus female of the recipient’s choice this fall.

“One of the Canadian Angus Foundation’s main objectives is to support youth development. It is gratifying to be able to offer members of our junior program the opportunity to expand their herds thanks to the generous support of our donors,” says Canadian Angus Foundation executive director and Canadian Junior Angus co-ordinator Belinda Wagner. “The foundation’s board of directors looks forward to seeing which female each recipient chooses.”

The Canadian Angus Foundation functions to preserve and expand the Angus breed for future generations through education, youth development, scientific and market research, and historical preservation and restoration.
