Global markets: US crude prices advance

WINNIPEG, February 6 – The following is a glance at the news moving markets globally.

– US crude oil futures advanced to an 18-month-high in early activity on Monday.

The market was propped up by strong demand from India and China.

– Indonesia’s economy grew less than expected in the fourth quarter, according to reports out of the country on Monday.

The country’s GDP advanced 4.94 per cent in the fourth quarter. Economists had predicted a five per cent increase.
