– Another COVID-19 vaccine is showing promising signs, with Moderna Inc. announcing an experimental vaccine with 94.5 per cent effectiveness rate in late-stage trials. The vaccine comes a week after Pfizer announced a vaccine with 90 per cent effectiveness. Both vaccines still face regulatory hurdles, but could be authourized for emergency use before the end of the year.
– Hurricane Iota strengthened to a Category 5 storm Monday morning as it bears down on Central America. The storm is the 30th named storm of the season, and is forecast to hit areas already dealing with damage from the recent Hurricane Eta.
