Winnipeg, Jan. 2 (CNS) – Following are a few highlights in
the Canadian and world feed grains markets for Tuesday, Jan. 2.
The parliament in Iraq will investigate a United States
wheat shipment suspected of containing feed wheat, according to
a report from Reuters. Iraq’s customs said in a statement the
shipment had met all standards and had undergone all relevant
tests before being allowed into Iraq. It added the trade
ministry had approved the shipment.

According to the Russian State Statistics Service the
Russian crop harvested increased by 11.1 per cent from 2016 in
2017 for a total of 134.1 tonnes of grain. The wheat and barley
harvests are complete in Russia. There is still 14.4 per cent of
corn to be harvested.
Turkey has reduced its import duty on barley to zero until
April 1, according to a report in the country’s Official
Gazette. As well Turkey has reduced the tariff for importing
four kinds of wheat to 45 per cent from 130 last year. Barley
will be imported with a 35 percent duty after April 1.
Feed barley prices in Western Canada are holding steady,
according to the latest information from the Prairie Ag Hotwire.
In Saskatchewan feed barley is C$3.70 per bushel, in Manitoba at
Feed wheat prices as well are holding steady according to
the Prairie Ag Hotwire. In Saskatchewan feed wheat is at C$4.90
per bushel and in Alberta at C$12.05 per bushel.
