Winnipeg, Jan. 15 (CNS) – Following are a few highlights in
the Canadian and world feed grains markets for Monday, Jan. 15.
Feed grain prices in key cattle feeding area of Lethbridge
increased during the week ended Jan. 12, according to
information from the Alberta provincial government. Feed wheat
is sitting at C$221 to C$225 per tonne and feed barley is at
C$220 to C$225.
Feed wheat prices in Germany’s South Oldenburg market are
sharply above milling wheat prices again, according to a report

milling wheat is at 155.75 euros per tonne. Wheat markets in
Europe dropped to new contract lows Monday, as they are still
recovering from the bearish United States Department of
Agriculture (USDA) crop production report released Friday and
are feeling pressure from the high valued Euro relative the U.S.
dollar.
Following the USDA grain stock report released Friday,
which showed large stocks of corn, American farmers are seeking
clarity on the future of the North American Free Trade Agreement
(NAFTA), according to a story by the Voice of America. Illinois
farmer Garry Niemeyer is hoping for a final NAFTA agreement
soon, so negotiators can focus on new trade agreements which
supply which has piled up in the U.S.
