University of Saskatchewan’s College of Agriculture and Bioresources will host the Congress of the International Farm Management Association, sharing research and best practices in farm management from July 7 to 12.

The theme of IFMA24 is “Resilience Through Innovation.” This theme underscores the vital role of innovative practices in building resilience within the agricultural sector.

Key highlights of IFMA24 include:

  • Expert-led sessions covering a wide range of topics including agricultural economics and finance, precision farming, agribusiness management, environmental stewardship, resilience of family farming and personal resilience, including mental health.
  • Panel discussions featuring industry experts sharing insights and strategies for implementing innovative solutions to foster resilience at the farm and community levels.
  • Themed tours on July 9 and 11 to various agricultural sites and businesses surrounding Saskatoon, showcasing the innovations and resilience our province and its producers exhibit.
  • Each IFMA Congress is known for being a networking event, providing attendees with ample opportunities to connect, share experiences, and build valuable professional relationships with others from around the world.

  • Jean-Philippe (JP) Gervais – Vice-President & Chief Economist, Farm Credit Canada
  • Jason Newton – Chief Economist and Head of Market Research, Nutrien
  • Megz Reynolds – Executive Director, The Do More Agriculture Foundation
  • Mike Frank – CEO, UPL
  • Derek Brewin – Department Head and Professor of Agribusiness and Agricultural Economics, University of Manitoba
  • Melanie Boldt – Co-owner, Pine View Farms All Natural Meats
  • Barb Stefanyshyn-Cote – Co-owner, Black Fox Farm & Distillery
  • Jake Leguee – Co-owner/Operator, Leguee Farms
  • Duane Thompson – Owner/Operator, Tee Two Land and Cattle Company
  • Paul Thoroughgood – National Manager of Sustainability, Ducks Unlimited Canada
