The amounts of Canadian oilseeds crushed, as well as those for grains delivered, saw slight increases compared to the year before, according to Statistics Canada (StatCan).
Domestic producers crushed 861,671 tonnes of oilseeds last June, more than the 821,292 crushed in June 2023. The June canola crush was reported to be 776,354 tonnes, with 334,909 used for oil and 447,433 tonnes used for meal. That exceeded the 717,036 tonnes of canola crushed in June 2023.
For soybeans, 85,317 tonnes were processed, with 16,325 used for oil and 69,190 used for meal. In June 2023, 104,156 tonnes of soybeans were crushed.

Canola supplies for India and Japan are expected to remain relatively stable in the 2026/27 crop year, the United States Department of Agriculture said.
Canada saw a small increase in grains delivered last month, totaling 4.502 million tonnes, up from 4.218 million in June of last year. Canola deliveries increased year-by-year at 1.719 million tonnes in June, compared to 1.283 million one year ago.
For all wheat, 2.22 million tonnes were delivered last month, down from 2.407 million in June 2023. Durum wheat deliveries fell to 294,673 tonnes in June from 366,585 tonnes a year ago.
Barley deliveries jumped from 195,346 tonnes in June 2023 to 329,616 tonnes in June. Oats declined from 283,488 tonnes in June of last year to 197,225 tonnes last month. Flaxseed deliveries totaled 26,539 tonnes last month compared to 33,477 in June 2023, while rye dropped from 15,177 tonnes in June 2023 to 9,511 tonnes in June 2024.
