WINNIPEG, March 29 (CNS) – The Canadian dollar ended
relatively unchanged against its U.S. counterpart on Thursday.
The loonie took strength from gains in crude oil prices,
gold bullion and natural gas.
The Canadian dollar settled on Thursday at US$0.7756 cents
or C$1.2894, compared to Wednesday’s North American close of
US$0.7751 or C$1.2902.
The S&P/TSX Composite Index rose 197.35 points or 1.30 per
cent to 15,367.29.
Canada’s agricultural sector performed as follows:
AGT Food and Ingredients—–up $ 0.24 at $ 16.69
Buhler Industries————dn $ 0.06 at $ 4.02
Maple Leaf Foods————-up $ 0.22 at $ 31.40
Nutrien Ltd.—————–up $ 1.65 at $ 60.89
