Glacier FarmMedia — The Canadian dollar was slightly softer relative to its United States counterpart Wednesday morning,

  • At 8:52 a.m. CST the Canadian dollar was trading at US$0.7318 or US$1=C$1.3665 which compares with Tuesday’s close of US$0.7325 or US$1=C$1.3652.
  • U.S. Vice President JD Vance said at a meeting of more than 50 countries Wednesday that the Trump administration was creating a trading bloc for critical minerals to set price floors and counter Chinese competition.
  • Gold was up by 6.21 per cent at US$4,941.70 per ounce, as Monday’s sharp drop caused some investors to buy the dip.
  • West Texas Intermediate was increased 0.19 per cent at US$63.33 per barrel.
  • The TSX was 91.47 points lower at 8:52 CST to trade at 32,480.07.
