Glacier FarmMedia | MarketsFarm – Bayer CropScience Inc. announced on Oct. 3 it will acquire a HyTech Production Ltd. canola treating and packaging facility near Coaldale, Alta. on Nov. 1.
Ownership of the facility will transfer from HyTech to Bayer and HyTech employees at the plant will work under Bayer. Meanwhile, HyTech will retain its other assets and full hybrid seed production capabilities. Bayer will also use HyTech tollers at the facility.
Bayer already has a canola seed production site in Cranbrook, B.C. and a seed cleaning facility in Lethbridge, Alta.
