Winnipeg, October 26 (CNS) – Following are a few highlights
in the Canadian and world feed grains markets on Thursday,
October 26.
According to a United States Department of Agriculture
report on Kazakhstan grain and feed for October, feed use of
wheat is expected to be flat for 2017/18. While wheat remains
the most fed grain in Kazakhstan for livestock, most of the
increase in feeding in the near future is expected to be with
barley and other feed grains and grasses, due to the
government’s strategy to increase acreage of those crops.
According to Reuters, Brazil’s agriculture ministry is
seeking approval to import 750,000 tonnes of wheat duty-free.
The request follows a reduction in planted acres this year and
production problems in the southern part of the country, where
above-average rains and frosts damaged crops.
The Ethiopian government has issued an international tender
to buy 200,000 tonnes of wheat, according to Journal du
Cameroun. The tender deadline is Nov. 28. Ethiopia has been
struggling with a drought which has devastated farms in some
regions.
