Honour Your Mother

Attention all you young folks for I have a word or two It’s time to let your mother know how much she means to you. Forget the times she scolded for she wasn’t being cruel Or when you said you had a headache and she sent you off to school. When you had to hug this strange old man (because you were related) And made you finish dinner – all that broccoli that you hated. Recall her driving you to games although she was dead tired To watch you skating Gretzky-like, the pro you most admired. Making all your favourite meals, the pie and cookie baking Staying up all night with you because your ear was aching. Mother’s Day is almost here and I hope your memory’s jarred. And you’ll let her know you love her with a sentimental card.
