Cover A Cushion With Recycled Denim

Here’s something that will appeal to the teenager in your family, or anyone else who likes denim. More than a cushion cover, it has pockets to hold items that might otherwise get misplaced. Salvage the least worn areas from a pair of discarded blue jeans; this is usually the upper leg. Cut out the pockets as close to the edges as possible. Join salvaged strips to measured cushion of desired size. Sew on the pockets with matching topstitching colour. Right sides together, sew along three sides; turn. Insert cushion form and close open end. Instead of a cushion form, you could stuff firmly with polyester batting.
