Wawanesa farmer Simon Ellis could have been killed when a tow hook broke and narrowly missed smashing through the glass of his tractor cab.
“When trying to extract the grain truck from the mud we broke the tow hook off the truck. It was a near miss that could have cost me my life.” says Ellis, in his video description on YouTube.
Many farmers on the prairies in some areas continue to deal with wet field conditions, and getting stuck is likely happening often. By sharing this video with the Manitoba Co-operator, Ellis hopes that it will remind other farmers to think about safety and save someone from getting injured, or worse.
