Global Markets: U.S. to move ahead with Huawei exec extradition

WINNIPEG, Jan. 22 (CNS Canada) – The following is a glance at the news moving markets in Canada and globally.

– The United States will formally move ahead with the extradition of Huawei executive Meng Wanzhou from Canada, according to reports. The Chinese executive has been under house arrest in Canada since Dec. 1, 2018 and the U.S. has until Jan. 30 to file for her extradition.

– The World Economic Forum is being held in Davos, Switzerland this week. Political and business leaders from around the world will be discussing numerous topics impacting the global economy.

– Canada released its new Food Guide Tuesday morning. The new recommendations do away with the traditional four food groups and instead focus on eating a healthy balance of fruits and vegetables, protein rich foods, and whole grains.
