JAPAN TO RAISE MINIMUM WAGE, ANALYSTS CRITICIZE PLAN
Japan will be raising minimum wage in an effort to stimulate its economy.
However, analysts say the country’s new stimulus package—which included the wage raise—doesn’t break any real ground, and other reforms will need to be considered.
ALBERTA TO INTRODUCE NEW CARBON TAX
The Alberta Government has announced a plan to lower the province’s greenhouse gas emissions.
The NDP will be introducing an economy wide carbon tax, and capping emissions from oilsand developments, according to reports from a press conference.
SOUTH KOREA’S CRUDE OIL IMPORTS UP IN OCTOBER
South Korea’s crude oil imports from Iran gained 98.8 per cent in October from the same time frame the year prior, according to data from the country.
Total imports were up 12.6 percent year on year.
