– Canada is now among the dozens of countries that have temporarily prohibited Boeing 737 Max 8’s from operating over its national airspace. Federal Minister of Transport Marc Garneau made the announcement on Wednesday, which included the Max 9 model as well. Garneau said the Ethiopian Airlines Max 8 that crashed March 10 and the Lion Air Max 8 that crashed in October were oscillating up and down after takeoff before crashing. Canadian airlines operate more than 40 Max 8’s and Max 9’s.

– A meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and U.S. President Donald Trump has been rescheduled for the end of April at the earliest. Officials from both countries said progress is still being made towards a deal to end the U.S./China trade war. Outstanding issues include terms regarding intellectual property and the final deal appearing to be too favourable to the U.S.
– The House of Commons in the United Kingdom will vote Thursday on a Brexit motion seeking an extension to the March 29 deadline for the country to leave the European Union. Hopes are for the EU granting an extension of at least three months, although the President of the European Council, Donald Tusk, indicated a year could be possible. Yesterday the House of Commons defeated a motion to leave the EU without a deal.
