Global Markets: Bombardier cuts 5,000 jobs

WINNIPEG, Nov. 8 (CNS Canada) – The following is a glance at the news moving markets in Canada and globally.

– Canadian train and airplane manufacturer Bombardier Inc. has announced it is cutting 5,000 jobs as part of restructuring efforts, with 3,000 of those cuts coming in Canada.

– The forced resignation of United States attorney general Jeff Sessions is leading to protests in the country, as the move has raised concerns that the ongoing probe into Russian meddling in the 2016 election could be curtailed.

– Tesla has announced that Australian accountant Robyn Denholm will replace Elon Musk as chair of the company’s board of directors. Denholm has sat on the electric car maker’s board as an independent director since 2014.
