WINNIPEG, May 1 – The Canadian dollar was mostly unchanged against its US counterpart on Monday.

Losses in crude oil pressured the commodity-linked loonie.

In the US, consumer spending stalled in March, reports out of the country say.

At 8:50 CDT Monday, the Canadian dollar was at US$0.7323 or US$=C$1.3656, which compares with Friday’s North American close of US$0.7319 or US$1=C$1.3662.

The TSX was down 14.06 points at 8:50 CDT Monday morning to sit at 15,600.19.
