New label additions to Simplicity herbicide expand the weed control and application options for spring and winter wheat growers, Dow AgroSciences announced.
A non-residual Group 2 product, Simplicity is the original high-performing cross-spectrum grass and broadleaf weed herbicide for use in all varieties of spring and winter wheat which allows you to start with confidence, not compromise.
In addition to all varieties of spring and durum wheat, winter wheat is now registered for fall and spring application.
In spring wheat, it now offers control of Japanese Brome and suppression of Downy Brome; in winter wheat, if offers spring and fall application for suppression of Downy Brome; control of yellow foxtail and control of barnyard grass.

Additional rotational crops including brown mustard, yellow mustard, dry beans and juncea canola are approved to be seeded 11 months following a Simplicity application. These crops are in addition to barley, chickpea, flax, lentils, oats, field peas, spring wheat, soybeans which were previously on the label as follow crop options.
As well, there is increased flexibility in rates and tank mixes.
Mustard processor supported
The federal government is investing $655,000 in repayable funding into a mustard-processing facililty near Vanguard, Sask.
Mustard Capital Inc. (MCI) began milling operations in 2007 and has grown its sales to $4.5 million in two years. MCI then provides high-quality yellow, oriental and brown mustard ingredients to customers in 35 countries.
The expanded operations at Mustard Capital Inc. (MCI) are expected to require over 5,400 tonnes of mustard, at a value of over $9 million, by year five.
