Weather on the Prairies can make things uncomfortable, so anything that can make a livestock producers’ day easier deserves applause.
Enter the Lift & Go remote control livestock gate from MJ Endeavors out of McCreary, Manitoba. Its inventor Mike Annetts – an industrial arts teacher at the local high school – built the system shown in the video that took second prize at Manitoba Ag Days Inventors’ Showcase on January 22, 2016. Demonstrating the lift gate and accepting the award on Mike’s behalf that day was Garry Smith, a retired principal from the same school where Mike teaches.
Appearing in the video during the award presentation (from l to r): David Laudin, Ag Days chairman; Garry Smith, exhibitor; Laura Rance, Manitoba Co-operator editor; Blake Nestibo, Ag Days chairman.
