the Canadian and world feed grains markets for Thursday, Dec.
21.
Farmers in southern Scotland have begun to embrace hard
wheats for the feed market, according to a report in The
Courier. French-owned seed company RAGT Seeds said while
Scottish producers traditionally used soft wheats, trends were

Japan’s Ministry of Agriculture received no offers for feed
wheat or barley in a simultaneous buy and sell auction which
closed late on Wednesday, according to a report in Reuters. The
ministry had sought 120,000 tonnes of feed wheat and 200,000
tonnes of feed barley to be loaded Feb. 2 and arrive in Japan by
Mar. 2 in the tender, which is usually conducted weekly.
Cereal and pulse stocks are down in Ukraine compared to
last year, according to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.
As of Dec. 1 cereal and pulse stocks totaled 27.07 million
tonnes, which is 4.8 per cent less than last year. Corn stocks
are lower as well, with only 14.23 million tonnes, which is 2.5
primarily due to a drop in this year’s harvest. As well export
shipments of barley and wheat were quite active in the first of
the season.
