Funding pledged for major ag venue

Agriculture Minister Rosann Wowchuk has pledged longer-term funding worth up to $250,000 a year for five years for Brandon’s Keystone Centre. The package, she said, is meant to help the centre “maintain green space for the people of Brandon and cover its current and future operating deficits.”

Conditions placed on the funding include matching funds from the City of Brandon, a moratorium on sale or lease of Keystone land for “unrelated commercial enterprises,” approval from both the province and city for future Keystone Centre operating and capital budgets.
