Canadian Pork Council restructures board

The Canadian Pork Council will pare back its board from 18 to 11 members under a new structure to take effect this month.

The council last week also announced a new corporate logo and its move to a new office on Laurier Avenue West, about five blocks south of Parliament Hill.

The CPC said it has completed a review of its governance and set up a structure for a new 11-member board that will meet “more frequently” than the previous board.

“We see the new board structure and corporate identity as a positive and necessary step for the council’s growth,” CPC president Jurgen Preugschas, a hog producer from Mayerthorpe, Alta., said in a council release.
