I enjoyed your recent Peak of the Market article, which revealed it for the Mafioso cartel that it is, including inducing a “climate of fear” on growers. It also shows how the regulations stifle innovation, as in the $10,000 fine to someone who sprayed colour enhancer on the potatoes.
But in my opinion this article is a bit of a red herring. It’s saying (paraphrasing) that as long as Peak of the Market is fair to “small growers” then everything will be OK. Well it won’t be OK.
If I grow one potato or a million, I should be able to sell to whomever I please whenever I please at whatever rate the two parties agree on. This is voluntary,
