In response to Mr. Blaine Pederson’s letter to the editor (“Not a done deal,” Co-operator, Jan. 7, page 5) I would like to provide the following comments.
The assessment of new transmission requirements for this province was reviewed by the Manitoba Hydro-Electric Board, with a decision being made to develop Bipole III on the west side of the province, following direction provided by the province of Manitoba.
There has been much debate on the additional cost of the west side route. Notwithstanding cost increments resulting from a longer routing along the western corridor, Bipole III is a very important project for Manitoba.
