Two die in quad crash near Benito

Two Saskatchewan men are dead after an all-terrain vehicle crash on farmland in the Benito area Sunday afternoon, Swan River RCMP report.

The two men, aged 34 and 36, were from Kamsack, Sask., about 75 km southwest of Swan River, and riding a single quad ATV at the time of the crash. Both were wearing helmets, RCMP said.

Swan River RCMP said the quad was eastbound through a farming area, about 20 km west of Swan River, when the machine “broached a steep embankment” and became airborne briefly before hitting the ground below.

RCMP said their investigation continues, but right now “it is believed that the individuals were not familiar with the terrain.”
