Speakers will cover gamut at Manitoba Ag Days

Agronomy topics are a perennial
favourite with showgoers

Agronomy and innovation are the order of the day when it comes to the Manitoba Ag Days 2020 speaker lineup.

“This year we have taken a real focus on agronomy and bringing experts in to speak on our top agronomy challenges,” Kristen Phillips, general manager, said.

Looking at the overall speakers’ program, it’s a blend of well-known speakers, familiar faces and newcomers such as:

  • Broadcaster, author and commentator Rex Murphy;
  • Agricultural meteorologist Drew Lerner;
  • FCC economist Craig Klemmer;
  • Innovative farmer Kristjan Hebert; and
  • Glacier FarmMedia/Manitoba Co-operator machinery reporter Spencer Myers.

Phillips says that year after year, the topics around agronomy continue to be the biggest speaker draw at the show.

“We have brought in several agronomists to speak on a wide variety of the topics this year,” she said. “We have speakers speaking on weather, diseases, insects, markets, weeds, herbicides, fertilizers, biologicals and regenerative agriculture.

“Please be sure to check out the program in advance so that you can plan your days accordingly.”
