Russia s animal and plant health watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor said Oct. 31 it had registered three new outbreaks of African swine fever (ASF), of which two were spotted in the south of the country and one in the Kursk region on the border with Ukraine. In all three cases the outbreaks of the disease, lethal to pigs, but harmless to humans, took place at small backyard farms, the watchdog said.
