Co-ordinators of this year’s carcass competition at the Manitoba Hog Days held in Brandon last week said judges had a tough time deciding.
“The quality of the pigs were extremely high this year. There was not much difference between the first-and last-place winners,” said organizer Ron Bazylo.
Out of 32 entries, Spring Valley Colony was named Grand Champion, second and third went to Aspenheim Colony; fourth went to Wellwood Colony and fifth to Hidden Valley Colony.
About 1,200 spectators and 100 exhibitors attended the two-day event.
