– US jobless claims in the week ending November 19 increased by 18,000 to a seasonally adjusted 251,000, data out of the country said on Wednesday.
Market watchers are looking to labour force data for indications on whether or not the US Federal Reserve will raise interest rates in December. Many analysts expect the Fed to hike rates before the end of the year.
– Britain is expected to see slower growth in the next two years, the country’s financial forecast said.
Gross domestic product is expected to grow by 1.4 per cent in 2017, which compares with a previously estimated 2.2 per cent.
