Global Markets: Apple to give users choice to slow down iPhones

WINNIPEG, Jan. 24, 2018 (CNS) – The following is a glance at the
news moving markets in Canada and globally.
Latvia’s Air Baltic said Wednesday that it expects to buy
more C Series planes from Bombardier in the coming months. In
October the company had said it was in talks for a further 14
CS300 jets in addition to the 20 already ordered.
Toys ‘R’ Us Inc. announced Tuesday it will shut down about
one-fifth of its stores in the United States in the coming

months. The toy store chain is currently trying to emerge from
one of the largest ever bankruptcies by a specialty retailer.
The closure of about 180 U.S. stores will begin in early
February and continue until mid-April.
Apple Inc. announced Wednesday a beta version of its iOS
11.3 operating system will add new features which show battery
health and recommend if a battery needs to be serviced. Users
will also be able to see if the power management feature which
prevents unexpected shutdowns is on and can choose to turn it
off. However Apple did not specifically say when the update will
be available.
