Canadian dollar and business outlook

By Commodity News Service Canada

WINNIPEG – The Canadian dollar was weaker Monday morning, seeing a modest correction to start the week after strengthening sharply on Friday.
At 8:50 CST Friday morning the Canadian dollar was at US$0.7529 or C$1.3282 which compares with Friday’s North American close of US$0.7544 or C$1.3256.
Renewed uncertainty over the Chinese economy ahead of trade talks between the United States and China this week accounted for some of the weakness in the Canadian dollar.
Losses in crude oil also weighed on the energy-linked currency.
The TSX was weaker in early activity, down 73.94 points at 9:11 CST to sit at 15,292.11.
